Haven Risk Group was founded with the desire to help churches of all sizes implement and train church security ministries. Churches are often viewed as “soft targets” in the community. The sad truth is that many churches just are not equipped to handle an emergency when it arises. Many churches know they need to implement security and don’t know where to begin. Other churches have implemented a security ministry, but just need some help in training their team or implementing appropriate policies and procedures. That is where Haven Risk Group comes in. Our belief is that all churches and those who attend them should be free to worship our Lord and Saviour without fear of violence.

Avery Hammond is the founder of Haven Risk Group, a company dedicated to empowering churches with comprehensive security solutions. With 26 years of service in the United States Navy as a Security Officer, and extensive experience in state and federal law enforcement as a lead firearms and defensive tactics instructor, Avery brings unparalleled expertise to safeguard sacred spaces. Inspired by Nehemiah 4:14 from the King James Bible, “Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses,” Avery’s mission is to protect congregations through tailored security training, thorough assessments, and effective policies, ensuring churches remain safe havens for worship.
